Early Childhood Music Education 2Laajuus (9 ECTS)

Objective

The student deepens the kowledge of the working methods, possibilities and goals of music education. The student learns to observe the behaviour of the child and assess his/her level of development, gains familiarity with interaction and group dynamics between children and learns to plan and direct activities in accordance with the developmental requirements of children.

Content

The course is focusing in the background values and goals of the early childhood music education in order to be more aware of oneself as a teacher; the motivs and goals directing the teaching situation and planning. The course consists of groupmethods focusing in one´s own experience and analyzing it.The student also gains knowledge of the early childhood music education by means of workshops, lectures, demonstrations, exercises, litterature and different projects in the group.
