Objective

The student learns to perceive the score and use the piano as a medium in examining written music.

Content

The course includes playing music written for different ensembles in different periods. The course also covers issues such as the following:
- transposing instruments in score reading
- C clefs
- development of prima vista playing and score playing techniques
- arrangement for the piano, idiomatic possibilities and restrictions of the instrument
