Improvisation and Musician’s Practical SkillsLaajuus (6 ECTS)

Objective

The student is presented with the most common practices of improvisation. Special emphasis will be put on analytical work concerning improvisation. In the end of the course the student will present his/her improvisational skills in a project planned and performed by the student.

Content

The student gets acquainted with chords, chord symbols, scales and textures and the different ways these are used in the practice of improvisation.
