Tuning and Maintenance of the HarpsichordLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

The student should become familiar with different types of harpsichord, and should learn to carry out basic maintenance tasks. The student should gain a theoretical understanding of different temperaments and their suitability for various styles of music.

Content

The student should acquire the practical skill to tune an instrument in at least one temperament, and should understand how this skill can be extended to include additional temperaments.
