Fundamentals of Fiction Film ProductionLaajuus (6 ECTS)

Objective

The students learn the structure of the production and organize a fictive film on a small scale.
They know the professionals involved and their duties in fiction film production. The students can
break down the script into parts and create a production plan. They can estimate the time use in pre- production, production, and post-production. The students can evaluate the needed staff and equipment on the basis of the goals and from the productional and artistic points of view. They learn the technical work flow used in a fiction film.

Content

The students focus on a productional script break down.
They acquire information on both the team and the distribution of work in a film. The students find out how the artistic needs of the production group are taken into account when budgeting and its scheduling. In addition, the students are learning the practices and work methods in the field.
