Objective
Upon completion the student is able to analyse communication as a social factor and understands the special features of different media. The student is familiar with communication theories vital to production of communication meanings and reception. The student knows the structure and operations of communication institutes and understands the relationship they have between other social institutes. He/she knows the vital communication institutes and is familiar with their social-economical importance. The student understands the scope and social nature of his/her own professional work.

*political, economical and cultural roles of communication in a society
*communication organisations and intitutes in the Finnish and global context
*the structure of communication institutes and relationship they have between other social institutes
*concepts and operational basic features of media economics
