Objective

The students comprehend the requirements set by sound processing when pre-planning, shooting, and post processing the film. The students are familiar with the equipment used in the film and television productions and can apply their knowledge to planning the sound systems in the field. The students can plan and meet the requirements of sound recording when filming in the field. The students are familiar with the process of fiction film making, they identify the factors affecting the sound, and communicate their needs in the team. They comprehend the sound design process and master the technical processing of the sound as well as sound control with different elements (dialogue, foley, special effects, base, music).The students also master the basics of budgeting and comprehend the scale of work and equipment with respect to the project at hand.

Content

The students learn the different stages in the production process of a fiction film from the point of view of sound. The students learn recording on the set and post production of the sound. The main weight is placed on rehearsing the technical skills. The gained skills are further rehearsed during the courses Fiction Film Rehearsals and Fiction Film Project 1.

The students plan the sound recording system on the basis of the script. The students form a budget out of the same script and create other required documents. The students make the sound track for a film
in such a way that different work stages can be identified and subdivided.
