Computer and MusicLaajuus (5 ECTS)

Objective

The students investigate the fundamentals of the western tonal music theory and how useful it is as an instrument of communicating sound and music. The students outline the importance of IT in the history of music. The students also know the most common programmes used today and outline the interconnecting and synchronizing protocols as well as other standards (MIDI, rewire, vst, etc.) The students master a specified technology and prove it by composing a piece of music by means of information technology.
