Audio Post-ProductionLaajuus (9 ECTS)

Objective

The students focus on the different stages of post-production. The students learn teamwork and how to take the responsibility for finishing a soundtrack on time. The students can work on different elements of
audio post-production so that one's own work can be handed in smoothly for the next stage of the production chain. They can also define their own needs as sound designers technically, artistically, and are able to meet the needs of the production process.
The students understand the boundary conditions of fiction and can relate the work to the resources. The students can budget the resources for post-production and evaluate the offered resources.

Content

Post-production is carried out for a fiction film.
The students focus on all the stages involved in the post-production process in depth : transforming sound, synchronizing, post recording, dialogue editing, Foleys, effects, mixing, and mastering.

Each student specializing in sound works as a liable sound designer in a given short film. The main assignment consists of the course Fiction Film Project 1.
