Objective

Students know the generally used microphones, microphone types and microphone techniques. They command the fundamentals of sound mixing and know how to use and sound manipulation techniques as well as attachments needed in recording and mixing. Students knows the requirements of band recording in theory. They understand the importance of defining the target sound in selecting microphones, their placements and recording space. Students knows the history of recording and is aware of the development of sound ideals. They are able to take the special characteristics of different instruments into consideration in the recording process.

• Microphone techniques, microphone types and knowledge of equipment
• Acoustic and electric instrument from the perspective of sound recording

Completing the course with a pass grade requires that a student has met the objectives of the course as defined in the course implementation.

The course is a degree requirement for students majoring in Sound Design and Production.
