Objective

Students know the streaming radio and the narrative conventions and genres of radio current affairs programmes. They know the most important public information sources for news and current affairs. They know how to produce an edited story and to write scripts for radio shows. They master various interviewing techniques. They know how to produce stories across the media.

Students specializing in journalism and production can make radio programmes that are journalistically interesting. They can generate ideas, research, select appropriate interviewees and create an angle for a programme.

Students specializing in television directing can produce a simple visual version of a radio show for television or the Internet.

Qualifications

Open university students:
This course is part of the Radio Broadcasting Studies. Courses have to be studies in a specific order. Not all courses need to be chosen, but the order needs to be this: Basics of Radio Broadcasting, Radio Production, Radio Expression, Editorial Work, Current Affairs on the Radio

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Participating the lectures.  Exercises done, some shortages.

Active participating to the lectures. Ability to adapt.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Active participating to the lectures.  Ability to adapt and reflect. Exercises done with new knowledge to the subject.

Completing the course with a pass grade requires that a student has met the objectives of the course as defined in the course implementation.
