Objective
Students master the journalistic process of producing a factual radio programme. They know how to keep up with current events in the society and to produce interesting content for the radio. They are able to produce and edit a working life related, thematic programme series. They master sound design and sound narrative in factual radio programmes. They excel at producing talk shows and have a solid command of interviewing techniques. In a radio project, they work as a producer, editor or director, as well as take care of a variety of technical tasks.
Students specializing in journalism are able to popularize scientific and other specialist information. They are able to handle an extensive amount of information and to select and organize the information into meaningful programme content. They master the practices of appropriate radio talk. They understand the significance of their work for current social debate.
Students specializing in production are able to popularize scientific and other specialist information. They are able to define a target audience and how a target audience affects programme content. They are able to analyze programme structures, to improve a script and develop it into a programme concept. Students are able to pitch a programme concept in writing as well as orally.
Students specializing in directing are able to work in a radio production in the capacity defined by their job description.

Radio Broadcasting Studies (17 ECTS credits, inc. Basics of Radio Broadcasting, Current Affairs on the Radio, Radio Production, Radio Expression, Editorial Work)
Open university students: Min 5 ECTS of the above mentioned courses or work experiense in radio hosting or editorial work. The course work will be a radio project with a political emphasis before parliamentary elections.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Completing the course with a pass grade requires that a student has met the objectives of the course as defined in the course implementation.
