Scriptwriting for TV 3Laajuus (4 ECTS)

Objective

The students know the productional field of TV series from the points of view of producers and the sponsors. They further deepen the gained skills in scriptwriting through their own writing. The students can write their own concept of a television series in a professional way into a format, which is ready for production.

Paths for scriptwriting ideas; professional strategies of the scriptwriter
Market and target group oriented thinking from the scriptwriter’s point of view
Viewer profiles on domestic channels
Developing and selling TV concepts
The scriptwriter and budgeting; competence through analyses
Network of colleagues giving feedback for the scriptwriter; feedback process and creating new versions
Advanced concept development for a TV-miniseries

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Completing the course with a pass grade requires that a student has met the objectives of the course as defined in the course implementation.
