Course unit code: KI00AA26
General information
- Credits
- 3 ECTS
Objective
A student learns basic principles of chemical analyses and their methodology. She/he will practice spectroscopy and chromatography analyses of cultural heritage material samples and evaluate results cooperation with a chemist/ specialist.
Content
The course contains theoretical lectures of most important spectroscopic and chromatographic analytical techniques which are used to study cultural heritage materials (UV, VIS, IR; XRF) (TLC, L/GC).
Other more advantaged methods, like PIXE, PIGE, SEM-EDS, XDR, NMR, HPLC, GC-MS, Raman will be discussed by lectures and publication case studies. During the course a lot of scientific publications will be reviewed and used as reference literature.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Approved passing of the course demands that the student fulfills the requirements specified in each course implementation.
