Objective
The student will know different materials and techniques used in upholstered furniture during different time periods. The student will know the history of upholstery. The student is able to identify different textile and filling materials used in upholstery. The student can identify the modern upholstery materials.
The student will be able to identify deterioration of upholstered furniture and reasons for it. The student will be able to carry out conservation of upholstered furniture and furniture made of many different materials and take into consideration the specific needs of each material. The student will be able to identify and make decisions concerning removal of later restorations.
Content
Materials and techniques used in upholstered furniture. Traditional upholstery fabrics and trimmings. Fiber ID. Conservation documentation of upholstered furniture. Conservation and restoration of upholstered furniture.

Approved passing of the course demands that the student fulfills the requirements specified in each course implementation.
