Objective

The student concentrates on working unsupervised and carries out a Final thesis work. The student deepens his/her knowledge of his/her professional expertise and learns to take responsibility for work projects. The student learns to evaluate his/her own expertise and complements those fields of expertise in an appropriate manner.
During this process the student applies the data search methods relevant to his/her own field of study, adapts previously acquired information with new information and creates new solutions and interpretations. He/she will learn to perceive details when part of a larger context.
The student knows how to write a written report on his/her work including description, analysis and clarifying examples of the process and the results of the work.
The work may be a design project, a research project or a product development project, where students utilise their previously learned skills. It is carried out in collaboration with work community or it is otherwise benefiting from the skills the student has acquired through his field of expertise.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1-2 Satisfactory. The student is able to carry out a design project, a research project or a product development project. The student can describe and illustrate a thesis work. The student is able to work fairly unsupervised and can justify his/her reasoning and reflection. The design and research merits of the work are fairly good. The layout and linguistic form of the work are fairly good. Appearance in seminars and presentations is fairly good.

3–4 Good. The student is able to carry out a Bachelor Thesis unsupervised. The work may be a design project, a research project or a product development project. The student can describe, analyse and illustrate his/her thesis work well. The student is able to work unsupervised and can reflect his/her own decicions. The design and research merits of the work are good. The layout and linguistic form of the work are good. Appearance in seminars and presentations is good.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

5 Excellent. The student is able to carry out a Bachelor Thesis unsupervised. The work may be a design project, a research project or a product development project. The student can describe, analyse and illustrate his/her thesis work professionally. The student is able to work unsupervised and can critically argue and justify his/her reasoning and reflection. The design and research merits of the work are distinguished. The layout and linguistic form of the work are creditable. Appearance in seminars and presentations is professional and creditable.
