Objective
Students are capable of implementing qualitative and quantitative research in elderly care. They are familiar with the premises, concepts and central analysis methods of qualitative and quantitative research; they are able to apply them and use triangulation.
Content
Premises and principal methods of analysis of qualitative and quantitative research. Triangulation. Different data and their special features. Collection of qualitative and quantitative data, data handling, analysis and reporting. Data search from the Internet and their utilisation. Basics of using SPSS statistical programme.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Students master professional concepts, and they justify their choices using the comprehensive knowledge base, based on the client’s needs. Students assess systematically the prerequisites and consequences of their own actions.
Students act independently and professionally aiming at goals set to them in their operating environment as well as apply working methods appropriately and safely.
