Objective
Students are capable of describing different environments in which bachelors of social services may work. They understand the process-like quality of client work and can identify the various phases of this process. Students can determine the different work orientations of client work and understand the significance of the concept of sustainable development to their work. They are able to establish objectives for their work and act accordingly. Students are familiar with the concept of reflection and understand its significance as a means for professional development.
Content
Work environments in social services. Professional competence areas of socio-pedagogical work. Goal-orientation in socio-pedagogical work. Socio-pedagogical work orientation and preventative, rehabilitative, constructive and reformative work. Work orientation based on partnership. Work orientation emphasising sustainable development. Reflection and its significance to one’s own actions. The Act on the Status and Rights of Social Welfare Clients and the Act on the Openness of Government Activities.
