Objective
Students command the general anatomy of the skeleton and detailed structures of the spinal, chest, shoulder and upper extremity bones. Students are aware of the different types of joints and factors influencing joint mobility. Students command the structures and functions of the spinal, chest, shoulder and upper extremity joints. They are familiar with the anatomy of the spinal, chest, shoulder and upper extremity muscles and are aware of the movements caused by muscles and of the nerves innervating these muscles. Students learn to use anatomical concepts, terminology of foreign origin and abbreviations.
Content
Anatomical concepts, terminology and abbreviations. General structure of the skeleton, types of joints and factors influencing joint movements. Details of spinal, chest, shoulder and upper extremity bones. Spinal, chest, shoulder and upper extremity joints. Posterior and anterior muscles of the spine and their innervations, respiratory muscles and their innervations, shoulder and upper extremity muscles and their innervations.
