Objective
After completing the study unit, students can explain the principles of binocular vision and anatomical foundation for it, its significance to vision and development in childhood. They can distinguish binocular vision disorders and describe the factors causing them. Students can calculate the required prism correction and spherical power lens as well as assess the quality of vision in various distances by means of graphical analysis.
Content
Anatomical and physiological foundation and development of binocular vision in childhood, stereopsis, the connection between accommodation and convergence and its significance, accommodation and vergence disorders, fixation disparity, strabismus and different types of it.
