Objective

Students can explain the basic features of diseases and their prevalence in the population. They are able to explain the pathological changes of diseases at cellular, tissue and organ level and demonstrate their connection to the eye and visual functions. They are familiar with the basics of epidemiology and biostatistics.

Content

Diseases at cellular level, infectious reactions, hemodynamic disorders, tumours, immunologic disorders, metabolic disorders, toxicology, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, neurological disorders, musculoskeletal disorders, nutritional disorders, congenital and hereditary disorders, epidemiology and biostatistics.
