Work Placement in Radiography 6Laajuus (5 ECTS)

Objective

The student in capable of planning radiological interventions and assess them from the customer viewpoint. The student is able to use the equipment safely. The student is capable of giving emergency care and can apply his/her clinical skills in treating the customer, and appreciates the significance of multidisciplinary cooperation. The student can apply his/her knowledge of topographic anatomy, physiology and clinical physics while performing examinations and interventions in a safe way in terms of radiation.

Content

Clinical skills; emergency care; in-hospital resuscitation; resuscitation medication; IV cathetrisation; handling of samples; training and assessment of contrast media examinations and angiological examination process; proper use of supplies and examination equipment used in interventions; and examinations and interventions as part of the overall care of the customer.

Qualifications

Work Placement in Radiography V, mathematical calculations to determine dose, physics and equipment

2 credits completed in the teaching premises and 3 credits during work placement in the sixth term.
