Objective

This course focuses on the roots and development of occupational therapy and its philosophical and ethical premises. Students know the history of occupational therapy in both national and international terms.
Students familiarise themselves with Occupational Therapists' job descriptions in Finland and in Europe. Students become acquainted with a variety of working communities where Occupational Therapists work. Students recognise the status of occupational therapy in the health care system and in society.
