Occupational Therapy for AdultsLaajuus (8 ECTS)

Objective

Student familiarise themselves with professional interaction and therapeutic relationships with adults. Students familiarise themselves with different methods used to assess adult clients. They are able to plan and carry out occupational therapy processes for adults under supervision, recognising factors influencing the process.

Professional relationship, interaction and instruction of the client
Motivated interview of clients with problem of risk abuse
Methods of assessing adult clients
Models of occupational therapy and basics of clinical reasoning
Group work as a method in occupational therapy
Promoting adults' occupational behaviour
Note
This course includes a work placement (1 ECTS credit).

Most of the studies in the Client-Centred Practice theme completed
Introduction to the Occupational Therapy Process
Psychiatry or Neurology completed and the other mostly completed
