Objective

Students are familiar with the key methods and measures used to assess psychomotor development and consolidate their skills in analysing children?s psychomotor functions. Students are aware of changes occurring in the body as a result of ageing and of connections between these and elderly people?s functioning. In analysis and examination of functioning, they are capable of making use of and applying methods and measures used to assess functioning. Based on their examinations, students are capable of drawing conclusions and planning physiotherapy in order to promote the functioning of children and elderly people. They develop capabilities to function as experts in physiotherapy in multidisciplinary teams promoting children?s and elderly people?s quality of life.

Dealing with children and elderly people and paying attention to individual life circumstances and living environments
Methods and measures used to assess the functioning of children and elderly people
Analysing the mobility of children and elderly people
Biological and psychosocial changes in ageing
Clinical reasoning as a basis for planning physiotherapy
