Objective
Students understand the significance of an individual?s background, build and activities, performance and participation as well as of the environment to development and prevention of musculoskeletal problems.
Students combine their previously acquired competencies and extend their skills and knowledge in terms of examination, therapy and assessment of different types of musculoskeletal problems based on existing evidence.
Students know how to choose appropriate examination and therapeutic methods and implement these safely and reliably, taking individual clients? needs into account. Students know how to instruct clients in self-care that supports the objectives and content of therapy.
Students are able to assess the effectiveness of the methods that they have chosen.
Students become motivated to develop themselves in the area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy and their expert activities in multidisciplinary co-operation.
Content
Dealing with clients as individuals and assessing their resources, taking these into account in planning and implementation of physiotherapy for the most common functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system
The most common functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system, functional disabilities and barriers to inclusion and the underlying pathological processes
Choice of appropriate measures and specific examination and therapeutic methods and safe use of these as part of a client's physiotherapy
Assessment and monitoring of the effectiveness of chosen therapeutic methods and the client's therapy
Expertise in physiotherapy for musculoskeletal clients and in multidisciplinary co-operation.
