Objective

After completing the study unit, students are able to carry out health examinations assessing children’s growth and development as well as make decisions based on the assessments. They know how to find work methods to support parenting and couple relationships and apply these to their work. Students know how to implement childhood immunisation programme.

Follow-up of growth and development: health dialogue, health check-ups and screenings
Early detection of deviations from the norm and guidance to further treatment
Supporting the growth and development of the child, parent counseling
Identifying the needs of the family, early intervention and support of resources
Supporting parenthood and the couple
Supporting children and families in special situations
Vaccination of children
