Finnish for Foreigners 5Laajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

On completion of the course the student will be familiar with and able to use the basic vocabulary and structures and some idiomatic expressions to cope with everyday communication situations. In familiar contexts, he or she will be able to deal with routine tasks, participate in conversations, write short, simple texts and read and understand simple newspaper texts with the aid of a dictionary. Her or his skills will be on the level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CERF).

Content

Oral and written communication in everyday contexts. Reading about and describing countryside and urban life, living environment, working life and Finland. Reading simple newspaper texts. New grammatical structures, especially constructions needed in written Finnish.
