Objective
The student will know the basics of geometry, trigonometry, vector and matrix algebra and the methods for solving equations and systems of equations. The students is able to apply them to engineering applications.
Content
Revision on basics of geometry and trigonometry. Revision on mathematical expressions and equations. Linear systems of equations. Basics of matrix algebra and matrix form of system of equations. Vector algebra.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student is able to solve linear and quadratic equations and linear systems of equations, is able to apply trigonometric functions and the Pythagorean theorem, knows the basic concepts of vector and matrix algebra and is able to deal with basic vector and matrix operations.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
In addition to the requirements above, the student is able to form equations and systems of equations to describe different phenomena and has good skills and understanding relating to concepts like scalar product, vector product and matrix inverse, and is able to use them in simple applications.

In addition to the requirements above, the student has a deep understanding about the topics covered in the course and is able to apply them creatively and sensibly in different applications.
