Introduction to Electrical Power EngineeringLaajuus (3 ECTS)
Course unit code: TE00AC94
General information
- Credits
- 3 ECTS
Objective
After completing this course the student knows the main features of Finland's energy needs and the most significant power generation systems such as thermal power, CHP, and hydroelectric power stations. Renewable and alternative energy production concepts and principles of operation are clear as well as the basic concepts of energy efficiency.
The student is familiar with the three-phase voltage and current as well as their connection to the formation of active, reactive and apparent power. The student knows the structures and principles of electrical drives.
