Objective
After completing the course the student shall be able to use a wide range of features of PADS-PCB design software. He/she is knows the significance of the electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility issues in printed circuit board design.
Content
1. Multi-layer Printed Circuit Boards
2. The ground plane design
3. Power plane design
4. Electrical safety issues of the design
5. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues of the design.
6. Consideration of the manufacturability
7. The new printed circuit board materials and solutions
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
1. The student can use advanced features and sophisticated design methods of the PADS software.
2. Students can take into account the electrical safety issues of the design.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
1. The student can consider the EMC issues in a reasonable manner in the printed circuit board design.
2. The student will be able to design a printed circuit board ground planes.
3. Students will be able to design the operating voltage planes of the PCB.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
1. The student is able to use the multilayer circuit boards in PCB design.
2. The student shall be able to pay attention to the printed circuit board manufacturability aspects of PCB design.
3. The student knows the new printed circuit board materials and solutions and is able to pay attention to these things in the design.
