Objective

After completion of this course the student is able to understand the basics of EMC-standards. The student can perform basic measurements related to electromagnetic compatibility.

In addition the student can solve problems in electromagnetic compatibility quite extensively. The student is familiar with and can use components used for shielding or removing interfering signals.

Qualifications

DC-circuits and AC-circuits

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1. The student knows the requirements for EMC measurements
2. The student knows the basics of removing or blocking interferences
3. The student can perform basic EMC measurement when aided

Assessment criteria, good (3)

1. As level 1
2. The student can perform EMC measurements ( immunity and emission)
3. The student can design systems that are reasonable compatibilitywise

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

1. As level 3
2. The student can perform even very demanding EMC measurements
3. The student can develop measurement environment if necessary
4. The student can design good systems and analyze and improve systems that have interference problems
