Course unit code: TE00AC95

General information

Credits
3 ECTS

Objective

After completing this course the student understands the risk factors of electrical current and the influence on humans. He/she knows the structure of the low voltage distribution system. He/she is able to describe how dangerous touch voltages may arise in connection with different faults.

The student knows the importance of basic and fault protection in preventing electric shock. He/she knows the suitable work practices in electrical installation work and the requirements set by the authorities engaged in electrical work. He/she knows how to organize electrical safety surveillance in an electrical contracting company.

Content

1. The effect of electric current on humans
2. Power distribution system design
3. Formation of touch voltage
4. Protection methods
5. Qualifications of electrical work
