Objective

The students are familiar with designing and implementing security solutions for local area networks. After completing the course, the student understands basic terminology relating to network security, basics of planning security, security technologies and methods applied in IP-networks.

Content

Basic terminology relating to network security: threaths, vulnerabilities, attacks, security policy, filtering, access control. Network security technologies and methods applied in the IP-networks.

Local Area Networks, Internetworks, Virtual Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks.
