Objective

After the course student knows technological and structural possibilities and challenges of bioenergy use and knows simple power plant structures and process flow charts.

Content

Small and large scale possibilities for bioenergy utilization (excluding liquid biofuels). Combustion, gasification and pyrolysis of bioenergy. Power plant and furnace types (weight on bioenergy solutions). Special issues on bioenergy use (logistics, land use, technical solutions and problems).
