Osaamistavoitteet

The purpose of this course is to review and refresh basic chemistry knowledge. This course forms the foundation to further studies in chemistry. After completion of the course the student knows basic principles of chemistry, chemical reactions and calculations.

Atomic structure, periodic table, naming of simple inorganic compounds, chemical bonds, mole, concentration, states of matter, basics of chemical reactions (material balance, charge balance, stoichiometry), acids and bases, pH of strong acid/base, oxidation and reduction
