Osaamistavoitteet

The aim of the course is to provide a sound understanding of sustainable water resources issues. After the course the student understand principles of water resource engineering including surface and groundwater resources. Hydrologic cycle and its components, distribution of earth’s water resources, distribution of fresh water on earth, rainfall distribution, river basins. The student knows problems of low flows and their mitigation using reservoirs; uncertainties in water resources management.
