Objective

After completing the course the student will understand the common concepts of wide area networks: available technologies, services and framing types. The student gains an understanding of implementing address translation, access controls lists and DHCP-services. Student can report planning and configuring computer networks.

Content

Address translation, DHCP, wide area networks, network management and concept of client-server systems. Project reporting.

Understands the basic principles of address translations, access control lists and wide area network connections.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Can configure address translations, access control lists and wide area network connections and report the implementation in writing.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Can implement IP-connectivity of a wide area network, address translations and protect network segments with access control lists. Can design, implement and report an IP-network reaching multiple locations and perform troubleshooting of its functions.
