Objective

Students learn the items to be discussed during the course of industrial processes through the various available options and to identify the plant unit operations and unit processes, and is capable of solving their main problems, to apply their knowledge and to provide expertise in future occupations.

Content

Unit processes, air and water related emissions and waste streams from
1. Thermal power plant boilers and gas turbines
2. Cement and lime kilns and industry
3. Oil refineries
4. Blast furnaces
5. Fertilizer nad chemical industry
6. Pulp- and Paper industry

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to define or describe the subject matter related to the concepts and phenomena qualitatively and calculate the associated basic quantitative comparisons and calculations

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to apply, calculate, change and choose the concepts related to the matter and phenomena qualitatively and calculate the basic quantitative calculations as well as to complete and produce the necessary information for the calculations.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students is able to categorize, collect, combine and generalize the concepts related to the matter and phenomena qualitatively and calculate the basic quantitative calculations as well as derive and rearrange given basic information.
