French 5Laajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

Capability of basic understanding of written and spoken French.

By the end of the course the student will be able to:
- communicate on an intermediate level in French about basic subjects as actual themes, pp.
- overcome his shyness of speaking French in public
- gather courage to use his language skills
- understand easy articles from French publications

Content

Basic grammar (Présent, Futur, Conditionnel, Passé composé)
Basic understanding of written and oral French with actual articles,
Basic spoken communication through discussion in class and group work
French culture by reading and discussion of articles

Qualifications

French 4 or equivalent / level of A2

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient performance:  showing just enough understanding of the subject to merit a pass grade but requiring greater effort to achieve a more satisfactory result

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good performance: showing strong understanding of basic concepts and good grasp of techniques, but with certain minor problems still requiring further attention

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent performance: not only fulfils all standard requirements but demonstrates originality and imagination
