Osaamistavoitteet

The course has been designed to give students an understanding of basic statistical methods and analyses. The course gives also basic understanding of the process in statistical research.

The aim of the course is to provide the student with the analytical skills needed to design, interpret and report the quantitative study.

Sisältö

By the end of this course, the students should has:
- The knowledge and understanding of the foundation and techniques of statistics, particularly as applied to a business context
- The understanding how to measure quantitative variables
- The ability to summarize data using tables, graphs and descriptive numbers
- The ability to select and use appropriate statistical techniques
- The ability to collect quantitative data as well as to critically interpret, analyze and report the findings
- Skills to use the SPSS for Windows software to carryout statistical analysis
