German 5Laajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

Capability of basic understanding of written and spoken German as well as communication in everyday situations in German language.

By the end of the course the student will be able to:
- communicate on a intermediate level in German about basic subjects as actual themes, pp.
- overcome his shyness of speaking German in public
- gather courage to use his language skills
- understand easier articles from German publications

Content

Basic grammar as present tense, imperfect, perfect, modal verbs, articles and declination; basic understanding of written German with actual articles, basic spoken communication through discussion in class and group or pair work, German culture by reading and discussion of articles

Qualifications

German 4 or Equivalent / level A2

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Sufficient performance:  showing just enough understanding of the subject to merit a pass grade but requiring greater effort to achieve a more satisfactory result

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good performance: showing strong understanding of basic concepts and good grasp of techniques, but with certain minor problems still requiring further attention

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent performance: not only fulfils all standard requirements but demonstrates originality and imagination
