Written communication
Principles of research communication and writing during the studies: academic writing; use of sources, bibliographical entries and critical evaluation.
Students identify factors related to the reliability and level of communication of texts of their own field (including electronically published sources and websites).

Students document the sources reliably and according to the guidelines of the Faculty of Welfare and Human Functioning, but the use of sources is mechanical and there is no interaction between the sources.

Students write contextually logical texts and use background literature in the texts. However, the sources are often unrelated to the text. Students’ own reasoning and information based on the sources do not always meet.

Data acquisition and the data management process
Students search for knowledge from books and various Internet search engines and portals. Students identify factors related to the reliability and currentness of knowledge. However, the use of sources is mechanical, and the sources are often unrelated to the rest of the text. Students document the use of sources in accordance with the faculty guidelines.

Verbal communication
Face-to-face and group communication in the workplace
Students identify expectations and ways of different communicative contexts but do not always consider them in their own communication. Students can adjust their own communicative objectives to those of the others in many situations. Students can link their opinions to the discussion, but it is often mechanical and superficial. Their argumentation skills are insufficient or incorrect. Possible justifications presented by others are not anticipated.

Planning and illustrating a presentation; presentation confidence
Students prepare, schedule and implement a presentation on a specific topic to a certain audience. However, they do not anticipate the communicative situation beforehand and choose the content of their presentation without considering the audience. The illustration of the presentation is very limited.

Giving, receiving and utilising feedback

Students identify their communication and data management skills but adopt a neutral attitude towards developing them as well as are quite passive when it comes to developing communication environments of the workplace. They give and receive feedback but are unable to utilise it.
