Learning outcomes

Students are familiar with the causes for transtibial and transfemoral amputations and different amputation techniques as well as understand the levels of amputations in reference to their functional capacity and relate this information to the fabrication process of transtibial and -femoral prostheses. Students can assess and measure these prostheses at basic level. They fabricate the prosthesis under supervision and are able to fit it. Students apply their knowledge on materials to the fabrication process. They can give instructions on the use of the prosthesis to the client and evaluate its suitability.
