Objective

The course improves general abilities to study physics and automation technology. The aim is that the students with different educational backgrounds in Physics gain sufficient knowledge and skills necessary for studying Engineering application topics.

This course yields understanding and mastering of SI units; the student knows how to derive quantities and units covered by Engineering studies. Problem solving strategies for basic problems encountered in Engineering applications are essential learning outcomes of this course. Significant figures in numeric calculations are introduced. Linear equations are introdced in problem solving.

Content

The course covers SI units covered by Engineering Physics, basics of trigonometric relationships, vectors in Physics, problem solving in Physics, graphical presentation and significant figures. During classes, problems in the fields of Engineering Physics are worked out.
