Stagecraft DocumentationLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

The student gets familiar with producing and reading stagecraft documentation. He/she learns to apply the information contained in stagecraft documentation to the performance logistics of theatres and international concerts and visiting performances.

Content

The course covers the symbols used in stagecraft in theatre as well as other types of performances (concerts and visiting performances). The students learn to read and produce stagecraft documentation. The students also learn to apply the information contained in stagecraft documentation to the time, space and staff needs involved in setting up and taking down a performance. Documentation in English is also covered. The course includes both theoretical lectures and practical exercises. The course is partly conducted in English, which constitutes a part of professional English studies.
