Technical Documentation and CADLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

After completing the course the student is able to produce plane and section drawings and layout drawings computer aided (CAD) following the most central rules of scaled documents.
Additionally after completing the course the student is able to create three dimensional models by means of 3D CAD technology.

Content

Fundamentals of CAD technology by means of one commonly used CAD program. The program will be used to create following types of scaled documents:
- Drawings with projection views and section cuts of parts
- Layout documents
Fundamentals of one widely used 3D CAD program in order to create parts and assembly models.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to apply CAD technology in producing scaled technical documents from given general models. Additionally the student can create one general part model applying the 3D CAD technology.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Applying the CAD technology the student is able to create new and modify existing scaled drawings. Additionally the student is able to create new and modify existing three dimensional models computer aided.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to produce independently technical documents by means of the CAD technology from both two and three dimensional models. Additionally the student is able to make improvements and corrections to existing models.
