Objective

The student can understands the different definitions of communication and media in respect to different theories and approaches. The student is able to evaluate the content presented through different media channels. The students understands the potential and possible effects new technology and tools can have on the human practices taking into account the social nature of humans

The student can analyse communication processes from the perspective of human being and from the larger perspective of communication. Furthermore, the student is able to choose the correct methods for analysis depending on the reason for which the analysis is done.

- The student understands the meaning of different theories and approaches for analysing communication and media
- The student can describe and explain how the fundamentally social in nature of humans affects the communication process

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student can use new technological solution and application in his/her writing and research process. She/he can select the appropriate models, methods and theories for his/her research and analysis, as well as use critically different kinds of resources in the writing. The student also masters the amount of resources used for the research.
