Global and Transcultural Nursing and HealthLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

The studies in this unit lead to development of cultural competence in the delivery of health care services. Furthermore, the studies lead to obtaining a sound foundation of knowledge concerning health care delivery systems and health-related problems and perceptions of people in various parts of the world.

Cultural awareness, knowledge, sensitivity and competence.
Transcultural assessment.
Health assessment and screening associated clinical nursing skills.
Health-illness beliefs, world religions.
Health care delivery systems and health-related problems of people in various parts of the world including the comparison of different health care delivery systems and philosophies.
International nursing, multidisciplinary- and multinational project work.
Culture shock.
