Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the students are able to:
• take economic, social and ecological responsibility into account, when designing and outsourcing collections.
• design collections for men, taking into account the efficient and appropriate use of materials and accessories used.
• utilize information technology in assortment design.
• present their own work as well as analyze and evaluate the work of others.

Content

The development of the personal design method continues. Designing collections for different brands and different purposes. Trend tracking using information from the Internet and fashion magazines. Responsibility of the clothing sector and its consideration in fashion design. The principles of collection design when production is outsourced to different countries and manufacturers. Developing a collection’s style structure in a way that the styles can be modified into different products and manufactured cost-effectively by subcontracting. Etiquette dress code. Presenting one’s own work. Peer evaluation.

Prerequisites

Competencies corresponding to the goals of the following courses:
Vizualisation of Body and Clothing; Design Software in Fashion and Clothing; Clothing Design and Commercialization; Digital Tools for Collection Design.
